Seriously, can we just define what First, Second, Third Hand testimony is?

There’s the official definitions via the dictionaries… then there’s Ufology speak. The two aren’t going to necessarily align, right?

In a formal dictionary summary:

First hand evidence – Person A met the Aliens.

Second hand evidence – Person B is told by person A directly.

Third hand evidence – Person B disclosed to Person C how person A disclosed an alien abduction.

Possible other meanings in Ufology$

First Hand evidence – I was at Roswell in person . I saw the crashed saucers.

Second Hand evidence – a witness came forward to myself to admit they saw it them selves. I also have material from the crash?

Third Hand evidence – you were told by somebody that they were were told by a first hand witness about something??
