On Friday May 31st, 2024 at approximately 9pm a whitish-orange object was sighted traveling from north-west to south in the sky at Lake Powell, Utah.
At first the object was assumed to be the ISS (which had been sighted two nights earlier) as it was traveling roughly the same speed and appeared to be the same size as the ISS. But then we got a better look.
The object seemed to be enveloped in a haze, creating a blurry appearance around it as it moved.
The object suddenly vanished, and approximately 1-1.5 seconds later there was an odd burst along it’s trajectory, kind of like an explosion of light but the right side of it was a perfect crescent moon shape. The burst was emanating out from this crescent shape, the cloud it left had the same hazy effect seen around the object. The burst lasted approximately 2 seconds then vanished.
We were near Halls Crossing marina. No pictures but I will update with a sketch.
Curious if anyone has seen anything like this or can link to similar videos or photos?
This was witnessed by 3 individuals who all confirm the details of what was seen. Our minds were collectively blown.
