To conquer the vastness of space by sending remote craft to set up wormholes on distant planets. If they take a while they might be offset by long lifespans. If they heir craft are capable at sub luminal speeds that wouldn’t hurt expediency.
Now wormholed could be temporal as well. It makes me think of innumerable worlds being connected.
That might explain the variety of craft and species. All worlds thay connect to a wormhole are available to each other.
