⁉️ What is Twitter tagging and why is it helpful?
Steve Bassett discussed this on a podcast with Grant Cameron: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grant-cameron5/episodes/House-UAP-News-Conference-and-Update-e2claas (⏱️Timestamp: 00:42:47)
Twitter is an extraordinarily powerful activist tool that is not fully appreciated. I don’t care about Elon Musk.
Twitter is important and I don’t want it to go away, alright? And so I’m on Twitter, I have a substantial following at @SteveBassett – Please follow me
What I’ve done is I have put out a curated list of all those Twitter handles for the House and Senate intel in our services community.
I did that and then recently, I put out on my Twitter feed all the handles for all of the Democrats, the House, rather the House conferees, the people that are in the room right now, debating this. I put that out, alright, and what I’m telling people to do in case they didn’t know, is that if you want to reach these people, you can call them. It’s not easy.
You can send a letter. It may never be read. You can send an email, it will probably be read by a staffer and maybe they’ll delete it. Maybe they’ll show it to somebody else. But way superior to that is Twitter tagging. And Twitter tagging is really simple:
All of the members of Congress, except for a couple, have Twitter accounts, Twitter pages, and handles. And so when you do an @Senator so-and-so, ‘I want you to pass this bill. This bill should be passed in its entirety, etc.’, and put a message on it. And then you post that in your account. That message, because you have tagged them, goes right into instantly into their notification section.
And so, say a thousand people do that, they tag a certain member of Congress. One message, a thousand messages, those 1000 messages turn up in the notification section. Now, every member of Congress has a staffer whose job is to check that, to watch that notification section all the time.
Because that’s where they can find out what people are saying about their boss, right? And it or referring to them in any way. And so it’s a perfect way to get a sense of where the public is with respect to whatever my boss is doing and say they go to that thing.
I mean, and here are a thousand messages coming in regarding the Schumer bill. What they’re going to do is they’re going to check with the member and say, sir or madam, there’s a whole lot of action here on Twitter, in the notification section, you should check it out.
So the member quickly puts up Twitter, goes to the notification, just scrolls down. Message, after message, this is the way and it’s incredibly fast. For instance, I gave them a hundred handles for the Intel and Armed Services Committee, alright? And so you just put that over on the right side of your computer screen, you bring up your Twitter page on the left side of your computer screen, right?
And all you do is you go post, copy-paste, the handle of the member, copy-paste your message, fire it off, do it again. And again, hell, you can message a hundred members of Congress in probably 30 minutes or less. And so I’ve done that, I’ve got that out.
How many are pouring in, into the Twitter accounts of these people. I don’t know. Obviously, there’s plenty happening online. There’s plenty happening in podcasts. Clearly, there is a significant response. •••
They probably are going to debate this for a number of days. They have to be done by the 11th [December 2023], so that’s almost 11 days. They leave and go out of session on the 14th, and it has to be some time to get the bill up to the White House and get it signed.
So it’s going to get signed on the 21st. They’re leaving town on the 14th. And so, they’ve got to get this thing resolved by the 11th. That’s when they’ll probably have the final bill ready to submit to the president.
⏱️ Timeframe: try do this before 11th December 2023 (US time)
You can still do it afterwards depending on how things turn out.
⭐Republican and Democrat House representatives to contact regarding the FY2024 NDAA
“The Burchett amendment was a good faith effort to provide some simpler, direct language vis-à-vis the very complicated Schumer amendment. It was not being set up to replace it.
The UAP Disclosure Act will stay in with significant changes. It is a very contentious process. The targets are the eminent domain section, the subpoena powers, and the Presidential UAP Review Board.
The UAP Disclosure Act is a powerful bill, and we want it as is. But resistance from defense contractors and secret keepers will likely prevail. There will be changes. Of the three areas of contention, the one with the best chance to remain intact is the UAP Review Board appointed by the President. Focus on that.
Here is now the approach to take. Contact Republican and Democrat conferees with a softer message. You support the UAP Disclosure Act and want it passed with as few changes as possible. You strongly support the UAP Review Board.
Consider using cooler language. Whatever the final language in the UAP Disclosure Act, it will be a huge win for the Disclosure movement.
If you want to support the House version language put forward by Tim Burchett, do so. It will likely be adjusted as well to not conflict with the Senate version.
Below you will find the Twitter handles for the Republican and Democrat conferees. I’m still trying to obtain the list of Senate conferees.
