Abductee rights, the missing piece in the disclosure conversation. “Thank you David Grusch: Following bravery into human rights will I be murdered by my government for writing this?”

This popped up on my Medium reading list and it is very compelling…worth the longform read. Where are the abductees in this conversation? Why has the government been allowed to stigmatize them?

“Imagine if we look back in hindsight and the reason why this government-created stigma to obfuscate the truth worked so very well was just, at the end of the day, from simple homophobia and people’s fear of others thinking they were crazy. The ongoing jokes about “anal probes” used against the abductees to smear them and discount their stories, along with painting them as people challenged by schizophrenia have consistently permeated western media and society. What if this is all it took in its childishness to prevent humanity from recognizing itself as an intergalactic species and embracing that moment..then figure it all out together and united. Are we more terrified that we are all alone in the universe, or that we are in fact NOT alone in the universe? Please decide. Why do we have huge radio telescopes listening and scanning space for other civilizations? We also have space probes now traveling outside our solar system with humanity’s knowledge etched on indestructible media. They are meant to teach other civilizations and non-human intelligences (NHIs) all about us and even point them back to our planet to come visit us. Yet when contact is made, we not only ignore it but most severely punish it and suppress it. Shhh!”
