Esteemed members of many stars we greet you, I greet you.
I am humbled by your achievements scientifically, culturally, and spiritually that enabled you to travel the vast distance to find us on this small planetary body in the corner of the galaxy. I hope some of you watching us waiting to see what we develop into are proud of what we have become, I feel that we have come a long way and I know we still have a very, very long way to go before meeting as equals. Our species are no strangers however, and I hope to address this directly.
For many centuries, or perhaps an even larger scale, we have had contact with some or all members of your delegations. We were blissfully unaware for a long period of our later development as a species until some of your crafts became apparent to our planet’s military, and in their hands I argue, changed the course of our history. I ask you esteemed and enlightened members of an unknown federation to please take responsibility for these actions. I know we are not a perfect species, but when we began studying your advanced technology, much of it turned into weaponry. When we began understanding we are not alone in the universe, our governments began hiding your existence, utilizing the very technology you left here to supersede the democratic process we the people of this planet put into place.
Many of us do not want to be locked into endless wars, we do not want to fear the beliefs of our neighbors, and would seek to find cooperation from differing viewpoints if only we were not thrown into chaos by a state holding so very tightly to the status quo. A status I argue set in place because of your hidden existence, the MAD policies put in place by our militaries clearly show the members of its community how desperate our governments are to maintain their hold on power and what they would do if threatened, they do not and should not represent the planet. I implore you to make yourselves known, to help us find a way out of this violent inequality, and I ask for your patience in doing so. Finally esteemed delegates, I ask you to offer sanctuary for those seeking refuge from the vast injustice these consequences have wrought.
Thank you for your time, I do not wish to demand anything of you I only ask these things because from our simple belongings your power seems vast and capable of solving the many problems we face. I hope to look forward to an ongoing conversation between our species, a conversation filled with new ideas, philosophy, and culture.
