Staff members of U.S. congress people are typically hired at the discretion of the individual members of Congress. If a member of Congress is not re-elected, their staffers generally lose their positions as their employment is tied to the tenure of that particular member. They want to keep their jobs. If we put pressure on the staffers, they’ll roll that pressure up.
