Congressional hearing: a summary for an European.

As a European citizen (Belgium), it’s very difficult to get specifics about the progress of the hearings in the American Congress following David Grusch’s revelations. Some of our media covered the beginning of the affair very briefly and sometimes with amusement. I’ve been trying to follow the discussions on the Congressional Hearing Megathread regarding this topic, but given the number of messages and English not being my native language, it’s hard to grasp what’s really happening. Lately, I understand there’s a sort of despair about reaching a positive conclusion. Could you please provide me with a summary of what’s going on?
