This is a popular quote in the UFO/NHI realm of discussion, and I think we may have misinterpreted it’s meaning or intent.
We know that the human body limits our conscious experience of objective reality- i.e. we cannot see the entire spectrum of light, or hear higher/lower frequencies of sound, etc.
There has been some speculation that the phenomena directly relates to consciousness, with some even going as far as to say the intelligence behind it is ‘trying to speed up our spiritual development’
I can’t speak on the veracity of that claim, but if we assume it’s true for a moment… then the interpretation of “containers of souls” that I’m proposing here makes a lot more sense than the commonly assumed meaning.
The intent may not be “contained” as in “held or stored”… but rather “contained” as in “limited from growing/developing/progressing” (as in the phrase, ‘the revolution and it’s ideas have been contained’).
The experience of consciousness through only our bodies is limiting (containing) our ‘soul’ [experience of being/perception/consciousness].
This implies the theory of fundamental or universal consciousness… which also connects with other increasingly apparent ‘woo’ aspects of the phenomena: remote viewing, OBEs, NDEs, meditation, psychedelics/altered states… and generally any experience of consciousness that goes beyond our normal human perception.
It may be that this message was not intended as an adversarial commoditization of our existence, but rather as a nudge in the right direction- recognizing our greater capability if we can overcome the limitations of our default human perception.
