Introduction
One of the common narratives around David Grusch is that his allegations are simply the product of “things people told him”. This idea has been repeated by senior government officials and public commentators alike. Now sadly, none of us have access to his classified ICIG filings so it is impossible to evaluate how much of this narrative is true. However, we can examine his public statements and see what references, if any, are made to “non-oral” evidence sources.
What follows are all the mentions Grusch has made of evidence such as photos, intel reports, radar data, etc that he found during his time with the UAP Task Force, collected from his major interviews.
Notes: I’ve done minor editing of the quotes for clarity. I always recommend people double check the original sources because they are a wealth of information and it’s probable that I’ve missed things. I’ve made the links work where I could. The time offsets for the Rogan interview are from the Spotify app. You may need to hunt around a little if using a different source.
House Committee on Oversight and Accountability
In his opening statement to the oversight session Grusch states, “…(individuals) have shared compelling evidence in the form of photography, official documentation, and classified oral testimony to myself and many of my various colleagues.”. (HOC,48:13)
When asked by Rep Moskowitz about satellite based image collection, Grusch talks about his time at the NGA: “That was one of my primary tasks at NGA. Since we process, exploit and disseminate that kind of information. I’ve seen multiple cases, some of which, to my understanding, and of course, I left NGA in April, so that’s my information cutoff date… but I personally reviewed both what we call overhead collection and from other strategic and tactical platforms. That I could not even explain prosaically.” (HOC 01:27:15)
When ask by Rep Mace about what percentage of UAP reports are investigated he says, “I tried to look at every report that came through that I could triage.”. (HOC 02:06:01)
(NGA was processing UAP reports? Where were these reports originating from, inside or outside NGA? Does AARO get them? Did AARO get a copy of all the reports Grusch triaged and look at them?)
In the oversight session there are two statements which we can speculate about.
Firstly, when questioned by Rep Mace on whether the documented evidence of NHI ‘biologics’ was in the form of video or photos or eyewitness statements Grusch replied, “The specific documentation I would have to talk to you in a SCIF about.” (HOC 02:07:30).
Secondly, when asked by Rep Moskowitz if he had direct knowledge of crash imagery from overhead surveillance platforms he demurred stating, “I can’t discuss that in an open session.” (HOC 01:28:00)
Joe Rogan
Early in the interview Grusch tells Rogan he’d seen “crazy radar data that I saw when I was on the task force…stuff making turns that didn’t make any sense” (Rogan, 6:20)
When talking about the origins of his investigation he states “multi star generals, directors of agencies, mid level guys that literally touched it, worked inside of it, all the stuff, they brought intel reports for me to look at, you know documents, and a lot of that I could cross vet, verify with other oral sources that my high level colleagues or I talked to.” (Rogan, 13:00).
When discussing the Schumer amendment, he refers to intelligence documents and the possibility that they are forgeries: “If there’s nothing to see here, if I’m fucking crazy, multi-star generals I talk to are crazy, the intel docs that I read are incorrect, they’re fucking forgeries or passage material or something, good friends of mine that worked on the program are bullshitting me in some concerted operation against me and my colleagues, that would be totally crazy to even conduct that because I took precautions… then why don’t we just pass this and see what happens?” (Rogan, 52:30)
(This also shows that he was aware of the possibility of forgeries. Which is good.)
When Rogan speculates that some people may know the answer to the question of wether we are alone in the universe, Grusch responds with: “Hundred percent…I mean the people I talked to certainly did and they had close personal knowledge and the intel reports I read, you know, literally indicated that as well…” (Rogan, 1:17:10)
On the topic of NHI bodies Rogan asks: “There are actual reports that we have biological remains?”. Grusch replied with conviction: “Yes, oh yes, yes.” (Rogan, 1:28:55)
Later in the interview Grusch returns to the idea of possible forgeries. He seems to be confident he was able to confirm they are authentic documents: “The people we talked to are not lying. The documents I meticulously went through, they were not forgeries, they were not deception material.“ (Rogan, 2:29:15)
For completeness, I’ll add here Grusch’s statement regarding being refused access to certain documents. He tells Rogan that a US agency informed him that they had UAP reports that he could access: “So I went to that certain agency through the approved and official way…the agency was like, ‘oh, yes, we have what you’re looking for Dave.’ ‘You’re gonna need to sign a one-time read-in’ to something you know ‘come visit us’. You know go to the vault and read it, hard copy, but yes ‘we have what you’re looking for'”. This access was later refused and is part of Grusch’s reprisals complaint. (Rogan, 42:00)
Jessie Michels
Early in his interview with Jessie Michels, Grusch refers to reports produced by US agencies: “I read some intelligence reports that were provided to me in that regard. I took that and I went to the agencies that wrote those reports and asked for access.” (Michels, 9:00).
When referring to his time at NGA while on the UAPTF he says to Michels: “…and they started telling me all this stuff that…and they brought these crazy intel reports.” (Michels, 01:44:37)
Ross Coulthart
When talking to Ross Coulthard on News Nation he says: “They told me, based on their oral testimony, and they provided me documents and other proof that there was, in fact, a program that the UAP task force was not read into.” (Coulthart, 7:15)
When Coulthard asks if Grusch has seen craft Grusch answered: “I’ve seen some interesting photos and I’ve read some very interesting reports.”. (Coulthart, 10:53)
On the topic of videos Grusch states: “There are many videos that are totally fair to release through a declassification process. And I find it very concerning from a transparency perspective that all that the department has declassified were those three famous videos. There are more concerning videos that left me with a lot of questions.” (Coulthart, 23:03)
Regarding the nature of the investigation: “…some of these subjects provided me sensitive foreign intelligence to read, sensitive program documents and photographs to evaluate, and then described in very specific detail how all this worked.” (Coulthart, 35:55)
Foreign Intelligence
A few interviews have mentions of foreign intelligence documents**.** Grusch believes he found intelligence documents written by a US adversary, documenting the US crash retrieval program.
Talking to Tucker Carlson: ”I read some extremely interesting foreign intelligence, that was derived by clandestine human sources overseas, espousing….and this is something they were noting about the US… that US has a retrieval program, a reverse engineering program.” and then: “I had a chain of custody on how we got that information.” (Carlson, 9:07)
In discussion with Joe Rogan: “…and there’s some other people were bringing me documents to evaluate. And I’ll never forget, I had a, I’ll just say, ‘stolen by the US’, an intelligence assessment from a certain foreign adversary, discussing the US reverse engineering program”. “And so I had an adversary also confirmed this program literally because of exfiltrated intelligence. So they certainly had a limited knowledge, at least ‘fact-of’, that the US had a program like this.” (Rogan, 41:00)
Grusch very recently referenced ‘foreign intelligence’ again in his statement of June 8th to ‘MarikvR’ on Twitter: “it appears AARO did not have the expertise to distill the information they were given, as it should have provided them access to a large body of foreign intelligence and other U.S. program information I had access to that is not reflected in the AARO Historical Report Vol. 1.” (MarikvR).
Speculative
Robert Hastings has reported on Grusch’s alleged investigation into the 1965 Vandenberg Missile Test. This isn’t from Grusch but I thought it was notable enough to include it here:
“Grusch apparently went so far as to have a colleague search one Department of Defense archive, the Defense Technical Information Center, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, in an effort to find out whether any corroborating evidence—other than the film itself—existed. According to my very credible source, a now-declassified, but as yet unreleased radar data record of the September 15, 1964 missile launch was discovered, which confirmed the tracking of an unidentified aerial object near the dummy warhead at the time of the incident.” (Hastings)
Conclusion
Even ignoring the speculative items, we have a good number of direct mentions of non-oral evidence sources, including documents, intelligence reports (both foreign and domestic), radar data, videos, photos and reports from his time at NGA. Grusch claims he was able to review this material and believes it was not the product of forgery. In some cases he specifically states that he knows the origins/chain of custody on the material.
Obviously, we have no way to judge the quality or volume of this evidence, which would need to be explored in any meaningful investigation of his claims.
tl;dr
He thinks he saw the receipts and knows who wrote them.
