Do we know the numbers?

Have there been any scientific/statistical models that can REASONABLY estimate the number of sightings by country, by date? Ie, if i know there were 100 “reported” sightings in oklahoma during the past decade, and i survey 500 Okies and 25% say theyve seen a ufo during the same period, can we come up with a reasonable count? 4 million Okies x 25% is 1 million sightings. Use this to determine the number of sightings in any state based on reports. My numbers are fictional and my logic isnt solid, but you get the drift..
