I was camping over the weekend when my friends and I noticed a bright red orb floating over the mountain peak to the east of us at 11:15 P.M. It lasted for maybe 2-3 minutes, slightly moving back and forth, before slowly ascending into the cloudy sky. The moon was above us on the right behind a canopy of trees and I’ve never seen Mars this big, red, or low. The red coming from this object lit up a good portion of clouds. This occurred over Brown Mountain, NC, USA, on August 5th, 2023. The video was recorded on my iPhone 13. Any explanation/theories welcome.
