I keep seeing all these posts about how free energy would ruin the economy of every nation. While that is true, let me ask you this…why does it matter? Would we really need an economy if free energy was widely available? With free energy, nobody would have to rely on the government or social constructs to survive, so what is everyone’s point when they say it would destroy the economy? An economy is not necessary in a world with free energy, since there would be no industries (such as oil) to uphold the economy.

EDIT: what would even be the purpose of an economy in a world with free energy, and furthermore, if it’s not necessary in a world with free energy, then why does it MATTER to all you Redditors if the economy collapses due to free energy.
