Before we address the 25 years… Firstly, the Burchett-Gaetz Amendment DOES replace the Schumer Amendment. It adds to the House version of the NDAA 2024, not the Senate version. The House version does NOT contain the UAPDA (Schumer Amendment). People saying this isn’t a replacement do not understand the two part voting process.
Gaetz isn’t talking out of his ass when he said the senate has to choose one or the other. You can take that to the bank.
He is trying to make his peers belive the Schumer Amendment doesn’t disclose anything to the public for 25 years: https://twitter.com/RepMattGaetz/status/1729999073854283823
25 Years? The True Timeline:
In a nutshell, the Schumer Amendment calls for anything older than 25 years to be disclosed to the government, that’s 1998 and older. So we get all of that almost immediately throughout next year, being turned into the review board. We get 52 years of secret UAP NHI docs and materials sent to the review board next year alone with the presumption of immediate disclosure, dating all the way back to 1947 (Roswell) and up to 1998.
Everything newer after 1998 and beyond has to age to 25 years old before its required to be submitted to government. This is to protect newer national security issues that are relevant today. So if it happened in 1999, we would get it next year. If it happened in 2000, we would get it in 2025. So on and so forth.
If we don’t let them know they are being mislead, they may fall for the lie and vote for this new, absolute garbage, amendment.
The Burchett-Gaetz Amendment 180 day timeline only pertains to publicly known ufo sightings, and only if they don’t pose national security threats. The Schumer Amendment calls for EVERYTHING to be turned over, publicly known or not, then after review for national security purposes, will determine what is released.

I did. And the section it amends is NOT from the UAPDA. It is from the House version of the NDAA24.
Full House version of NDAA, search Title X: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/2670/text/rds

The Schumer-Rounds amendment is in the Senate version. House Republicans are planning to send the Burchett amendment forward without approving the Schumer-Rounds amendment on their end

Gaetz’s tweet which confirms this is an amendment to the NDAA24 and an alternative to the UAPDA. https://twitter.com/RepMattGaetz/status/1729999073854283823
Coulthart has the same take: https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/1876uj8/coulthart_rep_matt_gaetzs_proposed_alternative_to/
