Has anyone considered why there is such a huge push for rapid disclosure?

I’m not trying to be one of those nothing ever happens people, but has anyone considered why there is a push for rapid disclosure? The government has never had a problem with keeping their citizens in the dark about things or doing things that are generally harmful to most people. Since Roswell there has always been citizens urging the government to report what they know about UAPs and NHIs including wealthy people and even powerful senators – and not so much as a peep from the government or 3 letter agencies.

So why now? The only reasons I can think of are either contact is imminent and they want to control the narrative so they’re doing what they can to get ahead of it, or there is some kind of threat to life and some members decided to grow a conscious. Or maybe I am wrong and they just feel the need to finally inform the general public.
