How could the coverup hold for so long?

Ok, ok I know, it didnt quite hold perfectly, there was always a slow trickle here and there but considering how other coverups have held up and considering the number of countries involved, this operation has achived a measure of success that shouldnt be possible for governments and militaries and private corps… and local cops in some cases. The ridicule makes it easier to keep the ufos firmly in the “maybe” category but its not enough on its own, if nothing else the coverup was really skillful.

Skillful enough to think that it was orchestrated by an other actor. Assuming 4chan-guy we might know that actor.

edit:I disagree with the view that the coverup hasnt held, depending on the target audience it was extremely successful. The widest number of the public still are at best in the “maybe” category.
