All of the signs have been there since the hearing. Burchett repeats the same thing in every interview, talking about “war pimps” and “eastern Tennessee values” without ever showing that he fully comprehended or understood what Grusch, Coulthart, and others have been saying or pushing for. He has never articulated anything beyond “it’s a cover up”, and showed signs of not supporting the Schumer amendment, saying it gives the pentagon an out. He didn’t comment on the negotiations, and now he puts out a complete joke bill that demonstrates he has no understanding of the “coverup” or has not thought deeply about how to effectively execute this investigation and rollout properly. By my understanding, his proposal may give the pentagon, media and the skeptics another cartridge in their magazines to say “look, nothing to see here!”
How come none of us saw this coming, and how did the insiders/journalists fail to pick up on this? Were we played, is burchett this naive, or are we all too dumb to see what was really going on?
