I see many people lamenting over the lack of news in 2024, while that is fair, I think its important to remember that this subject only started gaining momentum in 2017. David Grusch’s testimony and hearing was a rogue wave, completely unprecedented. Prior to that we only had AARO to rely on for small crumbs of information. You will be rewarded for your patience.
As I’ve been following this subject since the 2017 NYT article I’d like to share some insight in how I avoid getting frustrated/ burnt out over the lack of news.
When there is little to no news try and distract yourself with other things such as hobbies, exercise etc. Check the sub a couple of times a week during these low news periods. Remember that prior to 2017 this subject was a fringe topic with very little credible evidence known to the public. Since 2017 there have been multiple hearings, multiple witnesses coming forward, endless news articles, legislation, organizations, offices, etc. The cat is out of the bag and its not going back in. We’re playing a waiting game, more will come out given time. When major news occurs jump back into the subject and submerge yourself in the news once again. I’ve had multiple instances of ignoring and coming back to the subject even more excited. Don’t waste your days endlessly refreshing, when there is major news you will know about it.
In conclusion don’t spend all day refreshing hoping a big news article will appear. It’s okay to ignore the subject until something major happens, you will know when something big happens.
