I would be personally willing to spend $1000 towards billboards and local news spots in Dayton (Turner’s district) and Auburn/Talladega/Oxford (Roger’s district) to explain what’s happening in an informative, non-overwhelming way that still resonates with those constituents. Could we crowdfund?

I am willing to personally donate $1000 towards the cause of raising awareness in these districts about this opposition. The beauty about going after the constituents instead of the politicians is that even if the politicians were voted out, it’s likely that the aerospace companies would just lobby their successor just as hard and do the same shit.

It should really be about the issues – if the electorate was educated and understood why they should care about this (hiding technology that could change the world/their lives for the better + wasteful government spending), we might actually get somewhere in terms of making these politicians so brazen about dismissing this stuff. It also directly combats the influence these companies are able to wield on members of Congress by exposing how bad they are for our society.

Additionally, it’s not like Radiance/Batelle/Wright-Patterson can just up and leave from these districts. They have to control the politicians from these districts, and up until recently, it’s been relatively easy for them because people/their electorate have been in the dark.

Obviously, any effort like this always runs the risk of being a scam. Is there a way/platform to keep the funds in an escrow where everyone who donates to this cause can be safely assured that the money donated would go to this express purpose? I think that’s the only real barrier to getting this stuff off the ground, and if we had a few particularly wealthy donors, we might actually start getting the ball rolling.

I’m just temperature gauging the community on an effort like this. What do ya’ll think?
