It’s really starting to feel like Burchett is controlled opposition. I can’t find any other motivation for him wanting the robust Schumer amendment replaced with his completely feckless amendment.
I’ve heard some people attribute it to stupidity or partisanship but I don’t buy that, there’s no real political traction on this issue and it’s too niche of a topic (two competing amendments on a military spending bill) to have any political capital imo.
