“Nice, a spaceship”

I was on the way to pick up my SO from the hospital a week ago, after a week long stay for mental health related care, which was a about an hour from home.

I drive with my phone in my lap, as I’m often listening to audible during longer drives like this. Ironically, I am about 3/4 of the way done listening to Chris Bledsoe’s book, when I saw a couple of doves flying low (20-30ft) ahead. I figured I had 3 whole seconds to take a picture so I quickly hit the camera on the lock screen and snapped a shot (without looking). They were close, like not even past the fence in the photo, and my son loves birds so it was worth a shot.

After picking her up, I mentioned the doves and she asked to see the picture, I handed her the phone and after a few seconds her response was “nice, a spaceship”, followed by her assertion that there were no birds.

So… here it is, the first is the raw picture. The second I used my Samsung Galaxy S24’s built in photo editor to drop down the light balance to -100, the brightness and exposure to -50. The window was down.
