Old picture from fall of 1987

I’m going through a box of pictures tossing doubles and found this picture from lake county, California. I was living at harbin hot springs then and I always wondered about the dark ball in the upper right corner. I didn’t notice it when I took the pic and in the negative I remember it showed up white. Not sure if I still have that negative.
