Our Stalwart Protectors

This is just a bath thought, so apologies if it’s naive.

What if the UFOs surrounding our planet were actually placed here by another civilization or entity to protect us from other advanced civilizations/entities?

The various types of craft we see exist to deal with different existential threats to include even an interdimensional encounter (I say encounter because another civilization may be a threat to our existence by their very nature alone; not necessarily a purposeful attack).

Although just rumors, it could also explain capture of some of these craft due to their purpose: defend Earth and inhabitants from non-natural destruction. They do their best to evade, but some craft types fall victim to our type of tech. They also don’t fight back (on purpose) because that goes against their orders.

The periodic abductions could be standard protocol to test inhabitants for more insidious incursions.

And the lack of reveal is because the craft mainly operate as drones. We may not actually have made contact with the UFOs’ creators.

Also explains interest in nuke sites. The craft knows the nukes are apocalypticly dangerous, and prod about the installations. But they are our own making. Aka natural to Earth.

This is pure speculation. I was just wondering what theory could help connect all the dots. The one flaw I see is if the craft were already here, why did they let an asteroid kill a bunch of dinos off long ago? Unless that was also just considered “natural”. To be fair, all life on Earth wasn’t actually destroyed.

If this theory is somehow true, that would be another bad reason to shoot them down. The craft we can knock out of the sky with our type of tech likely were there to deal with another type we can’t deal with.
