For those who don’t know: In the 70s and 80s, a man by the name of Paul Bennewitz was victim of a targeted disinformation campaign that led to his psychiatric hospitalization. Richard Doty, who was an agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations drove Bennewitz insane. Bennewitz, like many of us here, was really invested in UFOs. He began recording strange lights coming from Kirtland Air Force base which turned out to be classified air force projects. So a target was placed on Bennewitz in order to stray him away. Not only that, Doty (and presumably others) began spreading false information from inside the UFO community in order to muddy the waters.
They say that for every real UFO document that is leaked, ten fake ones follow. I’m sure i’m missing some important details here and there but please correct me I made a mistake or anything.

Can someone help me find what happened to Mr. Bennewitz AFTER his hospitalization? He died on June 23rd, 2003 but his hospitalization happened sometime in the 80s. I would like to know what became of his life after this.
Did he drop the UFO subject all together? It was stated in Mirage Men that the two most important things to him were his company (Thunder Scientific) and UFOs.
Was his hospitalization a contributing factor to his death years later? For awhile I was under the impression that he died shortly after his hospitalization but he lived for many years after.
This one is probably easy to check but what happened to Thunder Scientific? I read that Bennewitz lost his business but it’s still open to this day. Who took over?
How did Paul Bennewitz die? I have not been able to find anything on this. I read somewhere that he committed suicide due to William Moores and Richard Dotys disinformation but I have not been able to confirm that. This would be after his hospitalization of course.
In fact, a lot of information on Paul Bennewitz is really hidden. You’ll find basic information about his case but there isn’t a whole lot in terms of specifics. There is no interview with Mr. Bennewitz or his direct family, no big catalogue of pictures, etc. There is practically no information about Mr. Bennewitz after the 80s. Maybe someone with more knowledge can help me!
