People on this sub who are more skeptically minded, why do you think these four congressmen are fighting against transparency so hard and trying to block the Schumer amendment?

As the title suggests. Healthy skepticism is something that’s often in short supply around here, and I always like to view these events from the eyes of both skeptics and believers. But this time, I’m having trouble finding an argument for why the government would want to block this amendment which only really affects them (I think, but could be wrong) if technology from non human origin is found to be in the government’s possession?
