Please ELI5 why disclosure is important so I can explain it to my kindergartner with a budding fascination with astronomy and the occult

I have followed the sub for a while now. While I have no sightings, I have had a couple emotional/psychological experiences when I felt there was something physical in the sky above me. They were profound to me, but I won’t go into explanation unless others have the same experience and are willing to share.

My personal stance on UFO or UAPs is at this point, I would rather sign the nondisclosure agreement directly with extraterrestrial life for my own life’s journey. It feels like something I need to know for my own past religious trauma.

Anyway, my son is taking after my affinity for all things space related. More recently, the discussion has been about black holes and what is beyond the universe. It’s sort of lead to the discussion of aliens or interdimensional beings. Of course he asked if they are real, and I basically gave him the same explanation as the time he asked if God and Jesus were real because he heard about them on YouTube. :/ (I’ve since blocked such content)

They say if you cannot explain something well to someone else then you really don’t understand it yourself. This is something I want to get right when I explain to my son.
