Private led disclosure

Long time lurker here. I’ve been following this for a while and excited about all the progress to increase transparency around this phenomenon. BUT I don’t discount the possibility that after a few months this will die out and we’ll be back to square 1.

Which makes me wonder: if UAPs are out there flying around public airspace in multiple countries, and we have some data (thanks AARO) about their signatures and hotspots, could a private initiative use this to detect them? I mean set up privately funded sensors near hotspots and get enough evidence so that we can disclose this without the government’s involvement. I think Avi Loeb and others are probably going in this direction, but this could need a bigger, globally coordinated effort.

I understand the govt has much more sophisticated sensors to detect and track UAP, but given the historical record it looks like they also somehow detected them in the past without super sophisticated tech.

Why hasn’t anyone done this? Is there any reason why this wouldn’t work?
