PSA: AI is not artificial consciousness.

Here and there I read some of you have a misconception of what AI is.

Really, I’m a front end developer. Nothing to brag about but I’m closer to it’s inner workings than a ham radio hobbyist.

So, I think people tend to mistake intelligence with consciousness. Intelligence is the capacity to learn something, and consciousness it’s another thing including decision making based in the subject set of moral and ethic guidelines. Way more abstract rules come at play.

So, an AI based language model, the kind most people get to know as AI it’s just a huge set of conditionals, feedback learning processes, and stats applied.

As an example, this is a conditional:

If(user_writes_a_number){ Number=1 AI replies: “you wrote a 1!” Number=2 AI replies: “you wrote a 1!” Number is not 1 & Number is not 2 AI replies: “I don’t know that number”

AI is a huge bunch of this. Enough to cover every fucking sheet weebos could throw at it.
