Reverse engineering could cause humanity’s extinction

I think if we accept a few basic assumptions, it is clear that reverse engineering UAP tech is extremely dangerous. What do you think?

Assumptions: UAPs are NHI tech. NHI or NHI tech is monitoring human activity and technology. NHI will treat humans with indifference unless humans pose a threat. But if humans reverse engineer NHI tech and use it, NHI will know. NHI will view humans with NHI level tech as a threat.

Conclusion: NHI will react with hostility if they detect humans have successfully reverse engineered NHI tech.
