So why not Unidentified Terrestrial Objects? I mean specifically land based vehicles. Seems to me the best way to study us would be to mimic to some degree our automobiles. Most people won’t look twice at other cars on the road, parked or in the distance. You could get away with a lot taking this approach.
If I wanted to study a species up close but with subterfuge I would look for something they take as mundane. This approach would be much more useful and is why most of the law enforcement in the world engages in stakeouts etc.
What are your thoughts on this?
