The Search For State Airgram A-6343, Dated July 25,1973

Recently, I’ve been delving deep into the old Moondust cables within the Wikileaks trove and have discovered that a specific document is referenced every time a Moondust operation is mentioned.

For instance, this cable from 1976 cites the Airgram A-6343 to consult for procedures when an unidentified object crashes in foreign countries. It would be fascinating to uncover precisely what procedures are outlined, especially considering instances like the one documented in this cable from Bolivia in 1978.

In this incident, an “egg-shaped” craft approximately 14 meters in diameter was reportedly discovered by Bolivian Air Force officials after an entire town witnessed its crash some time earlier. Subsequently, they sought assistance from the US Government on how to proceed with the craft. Strangely, this particular cable is never mentioned again, suggesting that any response from the US likely arrived through a different, perhaps more discreet, channel. According to witnesses from a nearby town, US Air Force officials were reported to have arrived in town and then subsequently at the crash site.

In a later cable, it is mentioned separately that the US would send “State Airgram A-6343, Dated July 25, 1973” to the La Paz Bolivia embassy via diplomatic pouch. Presumably, this was for guidance on handling notification and procedures regarding crashed “Space Objects” in the future.

I’m curious if anyone in this community has previously filed a FOIA request for this document (paging /u/blackvault) or if it has been leaked elsewhere.

I’ve done a decent amount of googling and digging into searching for this Airgram but have come up empty so far.

Given the age of this document and its distribution to embassies worldwide, it’s likely still in existence and maybe even out there on the internet already. I believe we can uncover it through open source methods.
