To other skeptics, and believers willing to play devils advocate, why are they trying to kill the amendment?

As an open minded skeptic, I’m curious as to how others who are more hesitant are interpreting the amendment being attacked by, if Gaetz is to be believed, most fervently by the House Intel Committee.

Say it’s all the next generation of US military drones people are seeing and they want to keep it secret.

The bill obviously has national security provisions to prevent that sort of information from being leaked, every decision of the review board is preventable by the President who will without doubt prevent our secret military programs from being released.

Or I guess it could be worry about misappropriation of funds or programs improperly hidden from Congress being discovered and people being prosecuted?

Still just seems strange to have pushback. What’s everyone think the most likely prosaic answer would be to the pushback?

Just a hatred of any kind of overview?
