UFOs and the Cold War

If the NHI were hostile/threatening, or at least some of them, then I don’t understand why Russia, China or the USA waste/d resources on conventional wars.

If the NHI had contact with governments and even concluded agreements, then the superpowers would have reacted long ago and denounced these agreements. The Soviet Union would probably not have stood by as the USA had an all-powerful ally with new technology on its side. It was precisely the USA’s secrecy in such a matter that the Soviet Union could have perfectly used with its ideology to portray the USA as an enemy of humanity. And I’m actually sure that the Soviet Union would have heard at least, let’s call it “rumors” about such contacts or deals with NHI.
