What is going on in the skies near Mauna Kea Observatory?

I was watching the Mauna Kea Hawaii Observatory live feed of the early morning skies hoping to view a meteor or two and noticed what seems like quite a bit of air traffic, at least for what was 2:44am Hawaii time.

Down in the lower left corner of the screen, there were a lot of moving lights, many in “formation.” Nearly all moving from left to right. Saw a number in triangle formations, moving in tandem.

Just seemed odd for the time and place. I’m sure the other islands generate air traffic but 3am? 180 miles from Honolulu?
