After being spectacularly fooled last night by my first Starlink train sighting, I stayed out skywatching for a couple more hours.

I live quite close to an airport, so there are always planes in the sky here. One thing I noticed for the first time last night, however, were aircraft that circled, giving a clear impression of patrolling or almost “flying around.” They weren’t following a straight flight path to a destination.

They all seemed quite high up. Three bright lights were clearly visible, but I couldn’t hear the aircraft’s engines. The one in this video flew from the south and then eventually circled back.
