MH370s last known location arc has it some 1500-2500 mi from Diego Garcia. The MQ-1C Gray Eagle UAV has a range of about 250 mi. The MQ-1 Predator has a range of about 750 mi. I don’t see evidence that either are or can be deployed or operated from an aircraft carrier. I also don’t see US military bases with a runway in western Australia.

Can any US navy vet chime in on this one for clarification?

Edit: Looks like the extended range Gray Eagle actually is capable of 2500 mi range, but that isn’t enough for a roundtrip recon from Diego.
