Why hasn’t the press simply asked Mike Turner why he is against the Schumer amendment?

Basically title. Mitch McConnell, Mike Johnson and Mike Rogers are also rumored to be opposed. All of them should be questioned for a public statement. I think it would really put them in the spotlight, right where they need to be. New Nation seemingly has the balls to do it. I suspect they would just decline commentary, but even that would be a good headline “Republican who opposed Schumer amendment refuses to elaborate” or something like that.
