Researcher and long time patroller of this sub. When I say “you all” below, I mean those of you who take this whole disclosure episode like a job requiring personal and mental energy. The purpose of this post is to reflect a stereotypical onlooking realist viewpoint, i.e. like any Joe Blow working a 12 hour/day job:
__________
Every post in here is always railing on about the evil dastardly corrupt folks in NASA, Lockheed, Congress, etc.
For example, this Grusch person, if one is to offer him benefit of doubt, even stated that Lockheed wants to off-load their sensitive material. Yet, they’re the villains. Apparently their CEO, who is worried about making airplanes and selling stuff so their stock price goes up, is also invested in NEVER LETTING THE PUBLIC KNOW FUNDAMENTAL UNIVERSAL CONCEPTS! And then the rest of this sub’s enemies are just corrupt and playing whack-a-mole, as I’ve read and understood, of not letting name-less individuals disclose stuff without repercussions and of getting access to hard physical evidence?
That already has been happening. There are whistleblower laws. But there are also employees who want to keep their jobs and feed their families. And then there are federal procurement and Tech Transfer regulations. This isn’t Congress’ purview. And then there is the real possibility that much of this is a Witch Hunt. Let’s break down doors, spread Eagle some people against the wall and pat them down, and, well, the place is clean!
And then the legislation. Wow. I guess many members here are not American, but I’ve personally never seen any piece of legislation that looks complete or makes every party happy in a single bill over the course of a few months. This sub treats this latest version like a Gift Horse. As if legislation does not build on itself, especially sensitive topics. You all got some very good content, such as declassification changes, on record. This is historic!
Then there’s the issue of triage: none of this “transparency” stuff is important right now when there are wars, inflation, security issues, job issues, etc.
You all need to temper your time tables and in the mean time, convince more than just this sub that this issue is more important than the other’s listed above. Spend time making one of those signature petitions to the White House, for a start (link below). Get other Americans interested. Grass roots. That’s how every other pressing issue has resolved itself.
Finally. Misplaced rhetoric with zero substance. No one here, save a current employee of the Fed workforce, understands how legislation goes though drafting, legal review, etc. There are plenty of reasons why certain language is a non-starter in a bill. It’s business as usual. Yet I’ve read comment after comment trying to “explain” (read: emotional rage) why it must be the puppet overlords at Lockheed keeping this circus from ending! How about no company/business in America wants to be involuntarily under threat of subpoena and eminent domain by the Feds. This is America, not the CCP or Russia. Scorched Earth does not work. Inserting slippery slope verbiage into legislation is the playground for lawyers who like to chip away at rights. At first glance, eminent domain lets some fed agency just show up and take some metal scraps from a contractor. Fast forward 10 years and the same feds are now busting down the door of some mom and pop business to “repo” some “sensitive material of unknown origin” because some nameless bureaucrat said it’s important “for disclosure”.
It’s been established through investigations and ex-employee discussions that most of the back-door blockade of conspiratorial subjects is due to a small handful of career employees in managerial/director positions. Security clearances are involved. So you can automatically magnify the difficulty of pinpointing the source 1000-fold. These employees are non-partisan (they work for everyone, maybe no one?). And quite often seem to be in an intelligence agency capacity (e.g. CIA, DIA).
So why is there no energy directed at Executive Branch agencies? I.e. reform the CIA policies? How about a general Executive agency order? More likely than not, one of these intel agencies, or even better a handful of agency employees, is hand-cuffing everyone.
Spoiler Alert: the leader of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Federal Government is the President, Joe Biden. All the Exec Branch 3 letter agencies ARE THE BOOGIE MAN you all are after. But instead every post in here is about Legislators and private companies! You can only dig into the weeds of the machine so far until things are outside your SME and paygrade.
My parting piece of advice, from a curious on-looker who could care less about the outcome but is familiar with the process/methods is: break the goal into bite sized steps that are simple and actionable***.*** I have yet to see a repeat of the Proj. Blue Book disinfo series in mainstream public news, aside from social media rants. So there is zero excuse for all the paranoia and cynicism on here. There is also zero excuse for misdirected efforts calling Legislators because Legislators exist to entertain their own constituents in their own home States/Districts, and they work on consensus, not one individual UFO-cultist calling them with some vague interest.
I was going to post the link to the White House’s “We the People” petition process where you all could sign to a threshold in order to get an official WH response, but unfortunately that petition process, begun in 2011, ceased operations when Biden entered office (oh no! Maybe on purpose to prevent disclosure?). So the next best thing would be to mail a signature list to the WH.

This sub has 2 million members. I bet at least 50% are Americans.
And then — IMAGINE if 500,000 Americans marched into Washington D.C. to highlight UAP transparency. With crazy costumes! The media would go wild.
People pay attention to actions, not words.
