First off, yes I know there is and will be cognitive dissonance but would the decline in religion accelerate as a whole?

I live in an area of the US that is full of evangelical Christian whackos. I mean the ones who actually believe the earth was created in literally 7 days, Adam and Eve were real and the tale of Noah’s ark is a historical fact . I used to be one of these folks so I know how they think. There will of course be excuses like “it’s just Satan trying to deceive us “, “Jesus died for the aliens as well”, etc. what will it take for them to loose their faith and how do they square that circle?
