Wtf is happening and what can we do?

All evening has been a roller coaster of good news/bad news and conflicting information and suggestions on what we can do, also conflicting. Is the state of things that we just don’t know what’s happening? If we do, it’d be nice if we could get a pinned post or something so we can get started on acting appropriately in the morning.
