Ross Coulthart has mentioned Pine Gap several times. It’s a jointly-operated facility in Australia operated by the Americans and Australians. It’s not entirely clear what goes on in there but supposedly it’s a communications station. There was an earlier topic in this subreddit about it that has some interesting links.

It won’t tell you much about what goes on in the base, but it does provide a pretty interesting look at the surrounding area and the security around the base. It’s also an entertaining watch.
