Proposal to use A.I. to read the Ramey memo, once and for all…(?) (Details about process in comments)

So, I doubt I’m the first person to think of this, and maybe it has been tried but here’s the method I’m thinking could be fruitful:

We use the same camera as was used in the famous “balloon debris” pic. (assuming that is something we either know or can find out). Otherwise we use the closest thing to it based on cameras being used at that time.

We then create our own sample document that utilizes the entire alphanumeric alphabet. We try to keep the same font as was used in the Ramey memo, if that’s possible. Otherwise we use standard text and font that the military was using at that time. The idea is to use the same variables and if not, we narrow down the best guess for situations of which we do not know.

We create maybe 100 various documents. (Honestly, I’m not well enough versed in computer learning to know what our sample size would need to be). The point is to recreate our own balloon debris photos where we know what the text actually says. We would even hold our own memos the same way and at the same distance.

Then we teach our AI to be able to recognize the Ramey memo by training it with our samples. We can do that because we know what each letter is.

Is there anyone out there with the abilities to do that? Or has this been done already?

The idea has been bugging me and I wanted to share.
