Elon Musk, who believes he’s the world’s foremost expert on literally topic, has decided to bless us all with his authoritative wisdom on the subject of UFOs.
Musk’s claim is that, since he put a bunch of small internet satellites in orbit, then he would have firsthand knowledge of the existence of UFOs, the implication being that UFOs don’t exist, and aren’t visiting our planet.
This is a classic example of ignorance by assumption. Musk is operating with a series of starting assumptions, and failing to meet those assumptions automatically means UFOs don’t exist. We’ve all encountered debunkers who perpetrate these flawed assumptions, and assert that UFOs can’t be real because their assumptions preclude their existence.
Musk should be ashamed of himself for promoting this anti-intellectual, fallacious reasoning. He could have taken a few minutes to research the topic, and learn that his assumptions are largely invalid or irrelevant, but that’s not how he operates. Like all narcissists, Musk believes that every notion that passes through his mind is automatically the truth, and no investigation is necessary because of this inherent correctness.
