As someone with an incredibly unhealthy obsession with astrophysics, all of this seems terribly implausible to me that we’ve been visited by other hyper-intelligent lifeforms.
Can someone really convince me otherwise?
Life itself might be very common, I agree, but intelligent life seems to be incredibly rare, as well as inherently self-destructive. The Fermi paradox is something I can’t get over.
If we are being visited, how far away are these beings coming from? How are they travelling here? It’s not like they can simply break the laws of physics as we know them, they can’t travel faster than the speed of light because any method (including warping of spacetime fabric) leads to being able to send information outside of local light cones which is essentially time travel.
So far I’ve only really seen hearsay from respected elders in the UFO community, but not really any physical evidence. How long until we get anything other than 20 second FLIR clips that aren’t even really anomalous outside of someone claiming “it’s a radar bug”?
I’m really jaded on just hearsay, and yes, the congress hearings were simply that. If you’re going to be a whistleblower, blow the whistle, not simply point at it and say “Yes, NHI exist, but I can’t say due to some government contract”. That isn’t whistleblowing, it seems like grifting.
Has the earth ever really been visited, and if so, when will we get evidence of this other than someone saying “I know someone who knows something” ?
