Just had a thought today, NATO was founded in 49, two years after Roswell. Could part of the reason they were formed be to create a united group to recover and keep secret UFO/UAP info and crashes?

There have been reports that americans have been present on foreign soil in uap incidents. If this is in fact part of their responsibility, it kind of makes sense why the USA would have bases spread across the globe.

And the non members, China, Russia, etc have been seen as villians, and rightfully so in some cases, but perhaps its because they are not sharing what they have recovered and are keeping that info for themselves.

Maybe im way off base here, but has this ever been discussed and is there any reason to think they might be a part of the retrieval efforts?
