This may vary a bit device to device, but you should be able to poke around yours and find out how to do it.
If you’re fortunate enough not to freeze up, go to pro mode on your camera (it could be called something else, should be quickly accessible), look for MF (manual focus) and just drag it to max as it’s a “distant” object. Then switch to EV (exposure valuation) and spend the few seconds you have to drag it untill you can capture the body of the craft as your eyes see it.
And that’s it! Two steps and only the second one you have to practice on various light sources at night. Once you have a little experience, you’ll be able to ballpark it instantly then zero in and snap it.
Remember: Autofocus autofucks us.
