I took my son to his Cub Scout camping trip to Lake Wales FL this past weekend (I don’t recommend this but that’s another story). On Friday evening when the sun went down and the camp was getting calmer, I was looking at the sky as I always do. I saw one thing that was peculiar. There was a set of stars as normal, but there would also be this occasional bright flash. It looked like a star turning off and on, but it was stationary and clearly wasn’t a plane or satellite, and there was no pattern to it coming and going. This happened about 10 times before I let other people know, and by the time I could narrow down the portion of the sky I was looking at, it stopped. Like many on this page, I spend my life looking up, but never saw this. Anyone else see anything in the FL sky on Friday night?
