Hi all! I am nearly a nightly stargazer with Gen 3 night vision goggles and I am always “UFO hunting”, which basically means looking at cool space stuff and hoping I see something weird once in a while…and I do. But, as neat as it is to occasionally see something I can’t identify, I learned so much in the process of “debunking” my own findings. I have found pulsars, Clear view of Andromeda, rocket launches, bats and owls galore. Now that summer has hit, I have taken delight in watching the disc of the Milky Way rise each night.

I managed to snap this photo by pushing my cell phone up against the eyepiece of my night vision goggles. I just thought I needed to share how beautiful our cosmic neighborhood looks. It is a great reminder that no matter how much we yearn for connections with our brothers from the Stars, that the universe is vast and beautiful and undoubtedly full of many kinds of life that we have yet to perceive or understand. Whether or not I see something weird, I always see something beautiful in the night. Keep looking at my friends!
