Semi-related example of the limits of our senses, data collection capabilities, and a comment on woo

This visual illusion is a great example of our brain attempting to make sense of input data. Our senses and sensors are the only things we have to tell us about our environment and really our whole reality.

So imagine if u were one of those moles without eyes… and a scientist. U r a mole scientist that has no vision. U could feel the heat from the sun, but the visual spectrum of light would be something unknown or unobservable to u. So to u, the sun=heat. As a scientist, U would probably wonder why or how plants grow. They need more than just heat to grow. There is something “extra” coming from the sun that plants utilize and need. It would be quite mysterious. And now try to explain colors to her (ur a female scientist mole). Explain green. Explain iridescence. Explain that u see stars in the sky.

Our anti-woo friends, I submit to u that much of what we consider “supernatural” is just that… very natural, but the problem is that humans are simply scientist moles that have leveled up once or twice. There r things we see, and things we don’t. And remember this clip is an example of how we can “see incorrectly.” What we see as an orb of light in the sky might be something else entirely.

That’s all. Just a friendly reminder that just because we have a consensus illusion doesn’t mean we have the universe all figured out.
