On July 26th, I witnessed, for the first time in recent memory, congressional representatives from across the political spectrum united for a singular purpose. That purpose was to listen, alongside the American people, to the sworn testimony of three highly credentialed current and former service members regarding Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and an alleged decades-long illegal cover-up involving UAP by rogue elements within the U.S. defense and intelligence community.

During the hearing – “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Implications on National Security, Public Safety, and Government Transparency” – your colleagues on the House National Security Subcommittee bore witness to alarming allegations about the state of our democracy. In response, they spoke boldly— vowing to assert Congress’ constitutional position in our system of checks and balances and promising action and transparency throughout the process. I felt proud to be an American for the first time in a long while.

Will you support UAP transparency in the weeks, months, and years to come? This is poised to become a primary election issue for me, and I believe an increasing number of Americans will share this concern in the upcoming election cycles. We are at an undeniable inflection point, and we need to understand the history of our government’s involvement with UAP and its implications for our past, present, and future. In addition to transparency about technological advancements and our place in the cosmos, American taxpayers have the right to know if trillions of dollars from the defense and intelligence budget have been misappropriated annually for decades. Given the scope and scale of the corruption described by whistleblowers, the potential exists to recoup significant funding that could be redirected towards social support systems such as housing, education, healthcare, and food security.

First, and most urgently, please do everything you can to ensure UAP whistleblowers are fully protected and supported. Harmful actions, interference, or threats against whistleblowers or their loved ones must be dealt with swiftly and aggressively. Alongside safeguarding the well-being of UAP whistleblowers, I urge you to support ongoing congressional investigation into the whistleblower claims regarding UAP and to advocate for additional public hearings this fall. The American people deserve the truth, and I am convinced that they will not tolerate deflection, disinformation, and half-truths from their government regarding this issue for much longer.
